For countless generations herders of the Tsakhir Valley, Mongolia, have nominated their bravest young men for an ancient, daring tradition. As a brutal passageway into manhood they must protect an amassed herd of over 2000 horses from the ferocious arctic storms of Mongolian winter, a task of life or death importance to the livelihood of all the herders. However, this tradition was abruptly murdered by climate pressure, causing elders to mourn the loss of their culture. Five years on, director Kasimir Burgess captures two elders and two newcomers daring to revive the coming of age ritual in this passionately environmentalist documentary.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director.
