Juvenile Detention Centre inmates and best friends, Ikuto and Ryoma, attend a lecture by the real MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura and become inspired. The pair hit the gym upon their release in order to compete in Breaking Dawn, a tournament held by Mikuru, but their hoodlum pasts and unhappy mothers forcing them into factory work prevents them from properly training. Worst of all? Ikuto is innocent of the crime that sent him to Juvie in the first place. Cult director Takashi Miike's adaptation of Asakura’s autobiography Street Legend screened at the Rotterdam and Fantasia festivals, and was nominated for Best Film (Òrbita) at Sitges 2025.
